Union was once the county seat for Union County and a rival in size to La Grande. When La Grande obtained a railroad however, growth in Union slowed and La Grande began to grow quickly.
Today Union is a small community rich in history and beautiful heritage. Located in the south end of the Grande Ronde Valley, Union is close to the forest and near Catherine Creek State Park. Endless outdoor recreation awaits you outside of Union, the gateway to the Eagle Caps.
